Privacy Policy

CrateSweep is a macOS app that helps DJs find and remove duplicate tracks from their Serato DJ library. This privacy policy explains what information we collect through the CrateSweep website, free download flow, purchase flow, app services, and licensing services, and how we handle it.

We collect only the information needed to sell, deliver, and support CrateSweep.

• Email address when you request a free download through the Download page
• Purchase and license details processed by Lemon Squeezy, including your order and license information
• License validation data such as your license key, instance ID, and instance name
• Customer details returned by Lemon Squeezy for licensing purposes, such as name and email address
• Basic website usage data collected through Vercel Analytics and Google Analytics
• Crash and error reports from the macOS app through Bugsnag when the app encounters an unexpected error
• Information you choose to send us directly, such as emails to support

CrateSweep does not collect or upload your music library contents, except for limited diagnostic context in crash reports.

• Track names, file paths, metadata, crates, or Serato library contents
• Audio files or audio analysis data
• Your license key in crash reports
• Your email address in crash reports
• Advertising profiles or targeted advertising data

Scanning, duplicate detection, and file operations happen locally on your Mac.

• To deliver the free download link after you request it
• To send product updates and marketing emails only if you opt in
• To process purchases and issue licenses
• To activate, validate, deactivate, and protect licenses against abuse or refund-related revocation
• To operate and improve the website using traffic and analytics information
• To diagnose and fix application crashes and handled errors
• To respond to support requests and refund requests

License-related records are temporarily cached in our backend using Upstash Redis to support activation, validation, and deactivation. These cached records may include your license key, instance information, license status, order ID, and customer name and email address returned by Lemon Squeezy.

In the current implementation, cached license and instance records expire automatically after approximately 6 hours unless refreshed by a later licensing request.

On your device, the CrateSweep app stores your license key and activation status locally in the macOS Keychain, which is Apple's system-provided secure storage.

If the app sends a crash or error report, that report is stored by Bugsnag according to Bugsnag's retention and processing policies. We do not operate our own servers for crash reporting.

If you request a free download, your email address and related download-request event are processed by Klaviyo so we can send the download link. If you opt in to marketing emails, we also send that opt-in to Klaviyo.

CrateSweep uses Bugsnag to automatically capture crash reports and handled errors from all users, including free-tier and paid users, so we can identify and fix bugs faster.

When an error occurs, the report may include:

• App version and build number
• macOS version
• Error type and stack trace
• License access state, such as unlicensed or free tier, licensed, or grace period, but not the license key itself
• Scan mode in use at the time of the error, such as exact or similar, if a scan was active
• Number of libraries configured as a count only, not library paths or names
• Recent in-app event breadcrumbs, such as scan started or delete complete

Bugsnag reports do not include your license key, email address, track metadata, file paths, or folder names.

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with service providers involved in payments, licensing, hosting, analytics, crash reporting, and support, or where required by law.

We use the following service providers to operate CrateSweep:

• Lemon Squeezy for payments, order management, and license issuance. Privacy policy: lemonsqueezy.com/privacy
• Klaviyo for free download delivery and opted-in product email communications. We send your email address and the Requested Free Download event when you submit the Download form. If you opt in to marketing emails, we also send a Marketing Opt-In event. Privacy policy: klaviyo.com/legal/privacy-notice
• Vercel Analytics for website traffic measurement. Privacy policy: vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy
• Google Analytics for website analytics. Google Analytics may collect page views, session data, device/browser information, approximate location, and cookie identifiers to help us understand site usage. Privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy
• Upstash Redis for short-term storage of license-related backend records
• Bugsnag for crash and error reporting from the macOS app. Privacy policy: bugsnag.com/privacy

The website uses Vercel Analytics and Google Analytics to understand site traffic and page usage. Google Analytics uses cookies to measure visits, sessions, and site interactions. We do not use the CrateSweep website to build advertising profiles or serve targeted ads.

You can control or block analytics cookies through your browser settings. Google also provides a browser add-on for opting out of Google Analytics: tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout .

You can contact us to request access, correction, or deletion of personal information we control, subject to legal and operational requirements. For order and payment information, Lemon Squeezy may also handle certain privacy requests directly.

If you opt in and receive product-related emails from us, you can unsubscribe at any time using the unsubscribe link in the email or by contacting support@cratesweep.com .

CrateSweep is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will post the updated version here and revise the effective date at the top of this page.
